Museum Education Fellowship Program

We invite emerging young professionals to join our ten-month Museum Education Fellowship Program. Education Fellows participate in a rigorous six-week museum education training program, including hands-on workshops and reading discussions. They also complete the Teaching Research Project, conducting qualitative research throughout the year to explore museum education theory and practice.

In addition, Education Fellows gain in-depth fieldwork teaching experience by designing and facilitating K–12 tours and working in programs that address the needs of school, teen, family, and public audiences. Ongoing professional development, provided by our experienced education and curatorial staff, ensures that Education Fellows leave the program with extensive teaching and programming experience for a wide variety of audiences, as well as a completed professional teaching portfolio.

Program alumni have pursued careers at such cultural institutions as the Denver Art Museum; Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art, Qatar; Metropolitan Museum of Art; National Museum of the American Indian; New Museum; and Queens Museum of Art, as well as the New York City Department of Education and the School District of Philadelphia.
